Before Sheila died, she expressed her one wish that her collection be submitted to the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. The NMWA’s submission application requirement is 10 pieces of art. Sheila and her siblings carefully chose 10 artworks of relatively similar styles and will be making the submission shortly.

I enjoyed taking part in photographing the creativity of this great artist, and I wish them luck. Hopefully the NMWA will recognize the value in accepting Sheila Pritchards into their great gallery of art.

If you are a model who would like to easily expand your portfolio, read on. We’re looking for several models to exchange their time in a photo shoot in return for free prints. This offer is open to children (preferably at least 8 years old), teens & adults.

The photo shoot will take place on location (within a reasonable drive from Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania) and will take from 1 1/2 to several hours. We’ll digitally edit & enhance the best photographs, and then make them available for you to download within 2 weeks. You can expect to receive the best 5 photos from the shoot which you can then print or add to your online portfolios.

This opportunity is open to those living within a reasonable drive from Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania and would include those in York, PA as well as those in the Baltimore, MD area. If you live in Fallston, Bel Air or Forest Hill in Harford County, MD, this photo op is perfect for you. If you live in Stewartstown, Red Lion or Glen Rock in York County, PA, we’d be glad to have you come for a shoot.

FAQ

What is a TFP shoot?

TFP stands for “time for prints.” It’s an arrangement with a photographer to exchange your modeling time in return for selected prints from the shoot. In our case, we’ll provide you with the best 5 pictures which will be retouched. We actually do a TFDP shoot which is a “time for downloadable prints” photoshoot.

How many pictures will I receive?

We guarantee you’ll receive the best 5 pictures from the shoot (which we’ll pick out). Occasionally, we may throw in some extras, but 5 is the promised and safe expectation.

Will you come to my location for a TFP shoot?

Based on how far away your location is from Shrewsbury, PA, we may be able to come to you. If your location is too far away, an alternate photo shoot location can be found.

What should I bring to the TFP shoot?

Bring at least 4 different outfits. Some recommendations include

• prom/formal dress
• sports/athletic attire
• casual (slacks/jeans & top)
• swimwear
• dancewear (leotard/ballet apparel)
• costume (be creative!)
• loungewear/sleepwear

Bring any props that you will need, including hats, musical instruments, decorative fans/umbrellas, etc.

Within the 2 hour photo shoot, Andrew will take pictures of multiple poses. Following the engagement photo session, we’ll digitally enhance the best of the pictures and then mail them to you on a CD (or you can choose to download them from a dedicated private page on our website). You’ll have full printing & sharing privileges for the pictures. Or, if you prefer to go the more traditional route, we can upload the best pictures to our online proofing site where you (and family & friends) will have the opportunity (through a password protected section) to select for professional printing the pictures of your choosing.

This opportunity is great for those living around Red Lion, Stewartstown and Hanover in Pennsylvania. Andrew will also travel to Dallastown, New Freedom and Emigsville, PA. If you live in or near York county and would like to know if Andrew can come to your location for a photo session, please contact us.

While our photography studio will be “in the rough” for several weeks, we’ll be open for business on January 18 and are welcoming reservations now. As an opening special, we’ll be waiving all sitting fees (regularly $45) for our first week (Jan 18 – 23, 2010) as long as you mention “Blog First Week Opening Special.”

After your photo session, we’ll digitally process your photos and email you with a link & password to your online album where you can go at your leisure to select which photos you’d like to print or download. We will also make available for purchase the best pictures from the shoot on CD, DVD or flash drive. Pictures selected to be printed are sent to our top notch photography lab partner where they are professionally printed on premium quality photographic paper.

Our lead photographer will come to your dance studio, take photos of students (either individually or while practicing as a group), edit the photos digitally to enhance them, and provide you with the best shots. The “cream of the photo shoot” will be available to you via download or they can be mailed by CD or DVD. Pictures can then be printed (at your expense), added to your dance portfolio on your studio’s website, and used within your dance studio’s marketing. Pictures can also be sold to students & their families.

Cost: $250 for an up to 3 hour photo shoot at your dance studio located within 30 miles of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania. This includes most locations from York, PA through Baltimore, MD.
